Most areas require 4 to 6 treatments spaced 5 to 8 weeks apart (depending on hair thickness and its growth cycle). Since the treatment only targets hair in the active phase of growth, multiple treatments are often needed. The laser will only treat hair that has pigment. It will not affect blonde or white hairs.
It is recommended that patients avoid tanning in the sun or with self-tanners prior to the treatment. Over time, these treatments should greatly reduce the quantity of hair that grows in an area; although some maintenance treatments may be required.
